The voice, and singing, are very important in Indian classical music. Our Carnatic faculty teach our students from the basics and cover a series of songs or compositions with improvised sections in their own characteristic styles. With a vast repertoire of compositions written for centuries, there is a lot of diversity in the material covered. Our Carnatic Students learn pitch recognition and sarali varisais. We encourage our students to have knowledge of the history of Indian/Carnatic music as well as understand the terminologies used in musical parlance while attaining familiarity with the basic seven notes.

Cancellation & Reschedule Policy

To cancel or reschedule your lesson, please give us 48 hours notice. *Student Reschedules* The student is required to inform the teacher about their absence from a particular session, two days prior to the class. In such a case, the teacher will reschedule the class and conduct the rescheduled class on or before the end (i.e. Saturday) of the ensuing week or such other time as may be mutually decided between the teacher and the student. In case the student misses to give two days prior notice about his absence to the teacher, then the decision to conduct another class for that student is completely based on teacher’s discretion. *Teacher Reschedules* In case the teacher is unavailable for the scheduled class, they will inform the students two day prior to the class. The teacher will conduct the rescheduled class on or before the end (i.e. Saturday) of the ensuing week or such other time as may be mutually decided between the teacher and the student.
